We find that one of the best ways to get to know people, grow in our faith, reach out to friends, and serve the church is through being part of a small group of 10-15 people who meet regularly with those aims in mind.
At Christ Church, we have 10 such groups, called Growth Groups. We meet once a fortnight (usually Tuesday evenings, though one group meets on Wednesday evening and one during the day on Wednesday) in different people’s homes across Lowestoft. We have groups meeting in Pakefield, Carlton Colville, Oulton Broad, Oulton, North Lowestoft, Central Lowestoft, and Gunton.
Usually, the heart of a Growth Group is a Bible study and time to share needs and prayer for other group members. At other times, some groups might watch videos, read a book together, have a BBQ etc. For part of the year, all 10 groups study the same book of the Bible, so the whole church is learning together. Over the rest of the year, each group follows their own programme.
