We have been closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, but we are restarting Shrimps with some special events from the second half of April 2021. These will include Teddy Bear Picnics at local parks, Buggy Walks, and also meet ups for parents with lockdown babies. We hope that these events will also act as welcome events for parents and carers new to Shrimps. We hope to fully reopen Shrimps later in the summer and will let you know in due course.

What is Shimps?
Shrimps is our popular Carer and Toddler Group. Staffed by volunteers from Christ Church, Shrimps welcomes parents, grandparents, guardians, child-minders and their little ones. We cater for all pre-school children.
As a church-based group, we operate with a Christian ethos and Christian values, and as such our sessions include Christian songs and activities. However, you do not need to be a Christian to attend – we warmly welcome carers and children of all faiths or of no faith at all.
We hope that you enjoy Shrimps and make lots of new friends. We look forward to meeting you!
What happens at Shrimps?
Our sessions will include some or all of the following activities:
Active play: ride-on-toys
Imaginative play: dressing up, kitchen etc.
Creative play: large Lego, Sticklebricks
Craft: a simple craft or painting activity
Baby corner: soft play mats with baby toys and a place for carers to sit
Music: instruments and singing
Quiet play: puzzles
Refreshments: both for children and carers
Shrimps sessions normally follow this format:
9:30 Free Play
10:15 Snacks and drinks (with tea and coffee for carers!)
11:15 Session ends
